Capital B for Roughs

The one above is what I used for line. I'm not sure if it works though.
This one I chose for shape because you can see the details in the shape of the letter "B".
As you can see this one I drew out for the element of size.
The one above is pattern . It turned out to be kinda fun tracing it out. I was more tracing with this one but I felt it was most successful from my other drawings.
The one was a little difficult but I tried my best to achieve value/color. I tried to shade the letters with different variations of black since that is what "color" described.
Lastly, the last element I drew out for capital "B" was direction. I tried thinking movement so hopefully it was accomplished here.

  1. why is the order out of order? Your presentation could have been better because I have to work at understanding what image goes with what and remember I am lazy. Look for more size variety
Designs 1 – line strong and bold. The 2nd has a strong direction – but same thickness
Design 2 – texture - the overlapping is excellent – there is an overall flatness to the design mostly in the first 3 lined one . Watch your edges in the larger - this emphasizes the problematic negative spaces
Design 3 – size – watch the placement of the b in the frame
Design 4 – direction whimsical, playful and full of direction – I like the way the line comes in just from the top
Design 5 – shape, the letter placed on the bottom works as an horizon line and grounds the shape. The curly lines are great but not sure about the right hand side
Design 6 - value – there is an overall sense of pattern – watch the edges and therefore the negative space. The direction of the value is great – the use of size creates the value.
Presentation – did not put in order and crooked
